Mesquite & Our Journeyman!

On Wednesday we headed down to Mesquite, NV for Tyler's Journeyman banquet. The trip was a little more tricky now that we have Miss Tenley. We spent most of are time in our room considering it was in a casino; not really a great place for babies;) We had a good time though and are so proud of Ty. He worked so hard to get to this point, and we sure are grateful for how well he takes care of us. He worked for alot of years, and spent a lot of time in school to get this award and become a journeyman. We love this guy!

Blessing Day!

Today was a pretty special day for this little gal! Today was Tenley's blessing day. Tyler gave her a beautiful blessing. We love that guy and are grateful for the beautiful blessings promised to our Tenley. After church we had a little get together with friends and family. We are blessed to be surrounded by such good people who love this little girl. Even my parents got to come along with Cortney, Heath & her little girls. It was a good day.

This Christmas was great. We got the sweetest Christmas present we could ask for. We got to celebrate this year with our sweet little Tenley.

We woke up Christmas morning and opened presents. Tyler got me the most beautiful necklace with Tenley's birth stone in it. I got Tyler a new pair of wool pants. After gifts we got ready and headed to Ty's parents. Pretty uneventful but it was a nice day spent with our new little gal and family.

So I Don't Forget.....

I wanted to write about this before I forgot the details. I'm not very good at documenting things and want to be better...so here we go.

My pregnancy was actually really easy.( I know I probably just jinxed myself for the future) I was never sick, and felt really good for the most part, aside from feeling pretty tired. I have to admit that I do NOT enjoy being pregnant, but the outcome made it worth it.

I was hoping that she would come early around 38 weeks, but everytime I went to the doctor I got the same news "no progress". This was really annoying because I was definately done being pregnant. So we waited and at 40 weeks had another appointment. I still hadn't progressed but my blood pressure was a little high so he wanted to go ahead and induce labor. This was Good news, overwhelming news, but good news. The fact that she was reallly coming terrified me. The next morning (1/7/11) we got the call that we needed to be at the hospital at 11:30 AM. We got checked in and waited for the doctor. This was the start of a long day of waiting. I was basically starting from 0 so we knew that it would probably take time. I felt pretty good all day and the contractions didn't start until later that night. I didn't even know that it was a contraction I was feeling, I just knew that it didn't feel good. I was doing fine until they started to come about a minute apart. I didn't even consider not having an epidural (i'm not trying to be a hero here people), if they were offering it I was taking it. Once I had gotten the epidural things went pretty smooth from there. The doctor came in about 5 AM and said he thought we were about ready. Once I started pushing, it was only 30 minutes later that the little lady arrived.

We both thought she was going to be a little baby, because I never got very big during the pregnancy, so we were surprised to have a 7lb 13 oz baby. She was perfect though and just the sweetest little thing. Its hard to describe the exhaustion that came afterward. (still exhausted) :) We stayed in the hospital for 2 days, terrified of going home. What was I going to do with this baby? We were clueless to say the least, and probably still are. Tenley had to stay a little longer because her bilirubin levels were quite high. She had to stay under the lights for a few hours longer. The hospital was awesome and let us stay in our room until she was able to go. Once home we had to keep her under a bili light for a while longer. She is now doing great. We sure do love this little lady!!

We welcomed Tenley Elizabeth Thomas to our family on December 8, 2011 at 6:02 AM. She is absolutely perfect and we are loving every minute with her. She weighed 7 lbs 13 oz. and was 20 inches long.

Noah brought them two by two, JIMMER brings them three by three!

For those of you who don't know we are HUGE BYU fans! (well me mostly but Tyler is a good sport). So on Saturday we got tickets to the BYU vs. UTAH basketball game. We got there early so you can't tell, but this place was sold out. It was awesome. I didn't get many pictures because I was so into the game. Being BYU fans means that we are also big fans of this guy! He really is amazing to watch! Deron Williams of the Jazz even came to watch him play. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of us at the game.

Arizona Christmas

This year we were able to spend Christmas in Arizona! We had a great time! We got to spend time with all of the family that we don't get to see too often, so we really loved being able to spend so much time down there. We also got to spend some time with our cute nieces. These girls are hilarious! I'm not sure why we didn't get any pictures of the twins, but we had fun with those girls too! Here are some completely random pictures of our trip:

This year for the 24th we thought that it might be fitting to drive up to Salt Lake to visit the This is the Place Monument. It was so much fun seeing all of the old homes of so many of the pioneers who so faithfully settled the area.

We have been super busy lately.. Here's some pics of some of our recent adventures!

We went up to Malad, ID with some friends of ours to fix some fence on the ranch that my family owns.

Tylers friend is running some cows up on our ranch and needless to say they are a little bit crazy!

And i'm done. I just finished my final year of softball at BYU. It's so crazy to look back and think of how fast it all went. It seems like just yesterday I was graduating from high school, and now here I am a college graduate with four years of division 1 softball under my belt. Its an interesting feeling to think that I am done. It doesn't seem real to me yet. I mean I have been playing softball for a REALLY long time. Its overwhelming to think that now I have to move on and find something new. My life has always been very predictable.. go to school, go to practice thats just how its always been for me. I liked it that way, i like consistancy. I have to be honest the unknown is pretty scary. A Job? Kids? I'm not quite sure where to go from here. I think at this point I just need to know that everything is going to work out just like it is supposed too.

SOFTBALL

As I sit here and reflect on the past 4 years, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. I am thankful for the opportunity I had to play division one softball. Because of that opportunity I have gained so many others. I want to write down some of my favorite parts of that journey.

My first year of college was spent at Idaho State University. I was able to be a part of the first ever softball team at ISU. What a great thing to know that what you do now is going to forever affect the future of this program. To be the first is a pretty exciting thing. We struggled that year trying to figure things and win games. I realized at that point that it is not all about winning and that it is more about being a part of something bigger than yourself and making a difference.

Toward the end of that season I wasn't feeling a hundred percent good about going back. I rarely was able to go to church and it was just a hard thing for me. I was sitting in church one sunday when i felt imressed to read Helaman 5:12. Basically the Lord was telling me to move on and build my "foundation on a rock". I didn't quite know what that meant until I recieved the opportunity to attend BYU!

This was one of the greatest blessings in my life. I was able to recieve a first class education, play on an astounding and very successful softball team, meet my sweet husband, and make friend that will last a lifetime. I have so many memories with the sweet girls on my team. I dont think any team laughed near as much as we did! It was more than just softball for us, it was enjoying life and friendship along with learning great life lessons that would benefit us in the future! Because of this experience I was also able to travel to many of the States in our great country. What a blessing this was for me...I will never regret my decision to play ball and go to school, what a great blessing having my degree will be! I'm also grateful to my many supporters who made it possible for me to have this experience. My parents, my Grandparents, My sisters and My husband. It required a lot of sacrifice and patience on their part for me to do this! Thank you! Here's some pics of all thats been going on!

So i've been really interested in photography lately! I got an awesome camera last Christmas and have been practicing every chance i get! Am i great? Back in Business

SO! after about 9 months after starting this blog, i've decided to start back up again. I just recently got my computer set up in my house so pictures will hopefully be up soon. But until then i will give a little update. I am in my senior year at BYU, i will be graduating in April!!!which is very exciting...I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I will have a degree in geography with an emphasis in travel and tourism. I am still playing softball here at the Y and am very excited for this up coming season. We just wrapped up our fall games and now are just taking it easy getting ready for the spring. Tyler is working for Lehi Power as an electrical meterman and is working as hard as ever. I am so grateful to have such a hard working husband. He's been spending his spare time hunting and helping his dad with the farm. He is also raising bucking bull calves, which is pretty awesome. Thats pretty much it for now, hopefully i'll be a little better at this!!

So...this week is finals week and i have been stressing big time! I am so ready for a break i can hardly stand it. I only have two more and then i am out of here and off to Arizona to spend Christmas with my family. I can't wait to finally be home, it has been way to long. It will be so nice to see all of my sisters and their sweet babies! It will be the much needed break i have been waiting for!
