A Day Trip!

I'm WAY behind on my blogging, we have had a jam packed month.  Including a couple of funerals. (but thats for another blog post)  So I am going to try and catch up one thing at a time.

A few weeks ago we went up to spend a day with Tylers family in the Uintahs.  It was absolutely beautiful up there.  We saw a bull moose and a lot of deer while up there.  It was nice to get away from the heat and relax in the mountains for the day.  Ty has such a fun family and we were glad to get to spend a little time with them.

Tenley and I were going a little stir crazy being cooped up in our hot house all day, so we decided to take a walk down to the park! She had so much fun sliding and swinging! She was ticked when I put her back in the stroller to head home.

A Growing Girl!

Tenley has been growing like a weed!  She is independent as ever and constantly on the go.  Ever since that girl came out she has been anxious to be involved in everything that is going on.   She absolutely hates snuggling & hugs of any sort.  I have to admit that it makes me a little sad that the girl has never wanted to just lay in my arms or snuggle up close.  However, it is her outgoing, curious, independent personality that makes her who she is!  I wouldn't change her for anything.  She is seriously SO funny!  She still only says one word.  Can you guess?  "DaDa".  Another thing that sort of breaks my heart!  She will NOT  say mama, trust me I try, and I try, and I try! haha  This girl LOVES her daddy!  I'm so so so grateful to have such a wonderful husband who loves his family and wants to spend time with us! 

Tenley is coming up on 8 months.   EIGHT MONTHS!!!  Can you believe it!  I cannot believe how quickly time has gone.  She is so sweet and certaintly our greatest blessing.  We went out the other night and snapped a few photos of this growin' gal!

A few things she does that I want to remember:

-She crawls EVERYWHERE, and boy is this girl fast!  She really gets after it.  If she spots something she wants then there is absolutely no stopping her, and she does NOT forget.  She will be playing with something that she is not supposed to have, I will take it away from her and give her somthing else.  Then she will crawl around until she finds what I took away.

-She's a climber.  She pulls herself up on to everything.  I don't think it will be long until she is walking.

-She still isn't a huge fan of food.  She eats two things, Cheetos & Puffs!  She inhales these two things, but will fight off baby food as soon as soon as she see's it headed for her lips.  Its a work in progress, but we are getting there.

-She talks....alot!  Sometimes she is pretty loud, she yells in all of the places she should be quiet (church, resteraunts, etc.) but she is just so darn cute!

-She is nearly impossible to change.  As soon as you get the diaper off she is "off to the races".  Seriously a two person job.  Things get pretty darn wild.

-She has the cutest little laugh.  She gets that deep, bottom of belly laugh that never fails to make you laugh out loud as well.  But the laugh that really melts my heart is the sweet little squeel she makes when she is really happy!

-She just recently started giving kisses.  Wide open, slobbery kisses.  The first kiss she gave was to her horse.  She LOVES horses.  It was hilarious, but now she will give them to mommy and daddy to.  So sweet.

Welp!  Obviously we love this little girl, and I have gone ON & ON, so I will just shush up and show some pics!

Nix Family Trip 2012

The last couple of weeks have been so much fun.  We were able to have all of our family visit...well all but Chelsea:(  We sure missed her.  We hung out around our house for a couple of days with Ashley and Alisha's families.  We did some shopping, went to the dinosaur museum, and visited This is the Place monument.  We had a great time and all of the little girls loved it!  We then headed up to Idaho and spent some time on the ranch.  We went for a walk, played go fish, and toasted marshmallows!  We then went up to Lava Hot Springs to tube down the river!  It was so much fun to spend this kind of time with my family.  It is rare that we all get to be together like this!  We loved every minute of it.  Here are some pictures of the fun adventure!

Busy, Busy, Busy

These past couple of weeks have been BUSY!  With it being Round Up week and then the 4th we have been on the go.  This weeks activities included a baby contest, a stock parade, a float parade, another float parade, a rodeo, a bbq, fireworks, friends, family & food!   We even got to spend some time with our friends Chelsea & Lylah.   I absolutely love this time of year.  I dare say that it could even be my favorite time of year.  The warm weather, being outside, the fun activities, how could this not be a great time.  Here are some pictures from our fun week.

Seven peaks!

We've been spending a lot of time at seven peaks since we have a season pass. We went about a week ago for Porters birthday and then went again Saturday. I finally convinced Ty to come with us, I've only been asking for three years! We had a lot of fun and hopefully Ty will want to come more often.
