Red Rock Relay!

Last weekend I was able to run the Red Rock Relay with some friends.  I spent months training for this race and it ended up being worth it.  It was so rewarding to have finished the race!  The race was 187 miles long and I was on a team of 12.  We each ran three legs, it was a day and night race.  This was far more demanding then I ever imagined.  Alot of running, no sleep, no food, and a scorching sun made for a tough two days.  It was so fun though being with a group of girls, no responsibilities, enduring together.  We ended up having a great time.  My first leg was 4.6 miles uphill, it was hard but it was overcast and pretty cool, making it bearable.  My second leg was at about 3:00 in the morning.  This was 2.8 miles on flat road, it was easy and I was able to run it pretty quickly, it was invigorating running at night, kind of scary but exciting too.  My las leg was by far the hardest.  It was 5 miles uphill in the 100* heat!  I had no idea I could push my body so far on so little.  I was so relieved to see the finish and I almost got hit by a car on the way in!  This was so fun and I will for sure do it again.  It was satisfying to finish something so hard!
